When to repair or replace composite decking

Despite its outstanding durability, composite decking still needs occasional repair work. Keep an eye out for these signs of deterioration:

Scratches in the deck’s surface
Deep abrasions
Unstable footings (especially if you can no longer see the concrete footers)
Sagging or bent boards
Large gaps in between boards
Discolored planks, from years in the sun
You should be able to fix minor damage, like small chips or shallow scratches, using a composite deck repair kit.
