Let’s take your outdoor living space to the next level with a long-lasting and low-maintenance composite deck.
What is composite decking?
Popularized in the 1990s, composite decking combines plastic and wood fibers into sturdy, attractive deck boards. Unlike traditional wood planks, composite materials are water-resistant and rarely scuff or scratch.
Here are a few leading brands for you to consider:
TimberTech is the gold standard for durability. Because TimberTech boards are made of plastic polymers, they can withstand hail, rain, and sunshine — perfect for Colorado’s shifting seasons! TimberTech has the most advanced product that stays 30% cooler than other products in the marketplace.
Trex was the first big name in composite decking, and it’s still a top choice for many homeowners in Colorado. Trex boards consist of 95% recycled materials, including reclaimed wood, sawdust, and a variety of household plastics.
Fiberon boards are eco-friendly, high-performing wood alternatives. With a wide array of available colors, you’ll have no problem finding the natural tone that will best suit your home.
Fortress Infinity utilizes a unique blend of bamboo and recycled plastics, resulting in a toxin-free board that’s great for the environment.
Benefits of Composite Decking
Less maintenance
With our top-notch composite materials, you won’t have to worry about sanding, staining, or painting your deck. Just sweep the boards (and pick a sun-filled Colorado day to wash them each year) to keep your composite deck in prime shape.
A longer lifespan
Most composite decks flourish for 25 to 50 years, outlasting even the sturdiest of wood decks! Krueger Brothers will ensure that your composite deck adds value to your home for many years to come.
Barefoot-friendly
Whether you’ve got kids running around in the backyard or you just want to kick back and relax with your shoes off, composite decking is your best bet. Its wood fibers are encased in plastic, which shields the deck from scratches and dents and protects your feet from pesky splinters.
Resists damage from water, insects, and harmful UV rays
When it comes to durability, composite decking surpasses traditional wood decking in nearly every way. Composite materials from brands like Trex and TimberTech are built to shed moisture, repel insects, and deflect dangerous UV rays. That way, your composite deck avoids warping, cracking, splintering, and the age-old enemy of outdoor living — rot.
Provides a
smooth style
To guarantee that your composite deck is neatly integrated with Colorado’s gorgeous landscape, Krueger Brothers offers a robust selection of decking styles, colors, and textures. For a sophisticated look with blizzard-ready toughness, we recommend TimberTech.
Boosts your
home’s value
Because of its superb quality, composite decking will cost more up front than wood. In the long run, though, you’ll save money on maintenance, repairs, and replacement. Better yet, you’ll get to enjoy the beauty of Colorado Springs from just outside your doorstep.

What Our Customers Say
Excellent job! No trace left behind! Absolutely did an amazing job working around kids running in and out. On schedule, on time and cleaned up the area before they left. Very impressed and would highly recommend them.

I want to let Krueger Brothers Construction know just how happy I am with my new covered patio deck. I look forward to showing it off, all summer long; especially when I have family and friends over for BBQ’s. I worked with Danielle and Crew 4 throughout the project. Danielle put together several design renderings which made it much easier for me to visualize. Crew 4 fabricated these plans to my satisfaction; including a couple of revisions. Thanks Fabian. This is why I look forward to future projects with KB Construction. Great job.

Krueger Brothers extended our deck and covered the deck. Andrew gave us a detailed and accurate bid and was there for us throughout the whole project. As project manager, Josh was open to our ideas and ensured we got the exact covered deck that we wanted. Tex, Jason, Ricky and Daniel did outstanding work were very friendly and were always there to entertain my many questions. We are thrilled with how the deck turned out. We have already referred two neighbors to Krueger Brothers.
Vickie H.
I cannot say enough good things about our experience with Krueger Brothers. We had a very large deck project and Tex, AJ, Wes, and Armond knocked it out of the park. Our project was completed on schedule (despite winter weather) and our project manager, Scott, was on site checking every detail and making sure we were always in the loop on what was going on. Every detail was taken care of by the crew and their craftsmanship was top notch. The work areas were cleaned up daily. At the end of our project, Scott went above and beyond wrapping up our punch list items, even painting window sills and touching up our weathered trim to look as fresh as our new deck. I would 100% recommend these guys for any construction needs and will definitely use them again.

When to repair or replace composite decking
https://youtu.be/eHrvBgPdWr8
Despite its outstanding durability, composite decking still needs occasional repair work. Keep an eye out for these signs of deterioration:
- Scratches in the deck’s surface
- Deep abrasions
- Unstable footings (especially if you can no longer see the concrete footers)
- Sagging or bent boards
- Large gaps in between boards
- Discolored planks, from years in the sun
You should be able to fix minor damage, like small chips or shallow scratches, using a composite deck repair kit. Boards that have deep abrasions or rot will need to be fully replaced. Be sure to check with the manufacturer before making repairs — after all, different materials require different types of upkeep!
